The AGM is upon us once more, and this year will consist of two parts.
The formal part of the meeting will take place in the first, short session,
during which the Women in Publishing committee will provide a quick
overview of what's been happening over the past year, and report on the
accounts.
This will be followed by the main session with our guest speaker Valerie
Fawcett, a personal development trainer who will give a talk
on 'Confidence - showing it and feeling it'.
Some people seem to have been born confident. They exude confidence from
every pore, speak assertively, walk tall and impress everyone. And it seems
that confident people are successful people - they expect to achieve what
they set out to do, and most of the time they succeed.
For some of us though, perhaps the majority, confidence is something
aspired to but never quite achieved. So how do you get confidence? Valerie
Fawcett, who worked in publishing before she changed direction to become
a 'life coach', will lead an interactive evening in which members of the
audience will discover what confidence is about, and how they can learn to
behave more confidently and feel better about themselves.
Women in Publishing's meetings take place on the second Wednesday of the
month, and are a women-only event.
Created 1 August 2002. Last Updated 31 March 2003.
