Subject: FW: NeLH co-hosting Evidence in Practice Conference - a great
opp ortu nity for networking
Hello everyone
Please circulate to colleagues - I'm keen to see lots of abstract/poster
submissions from librarians. Not much warning as the closing date is 1st
August for oral presentations and 12th September for posters but a great
opportunity to show how important librarians are.
Also a cheap conference for those who decide not to submit abstracts!
Best wishes,
Alison

held in Bristol UK, on October 20th - 21st, 2003.
The closing dates for abstracts are;
Oral presentations : August 1st
Poster presentations : September 12th
Thanks to the support of the NHS National Electronic Library for Health, we
are able to offer FREE PLACES for UK delegates with ACCEPTED poster or oral
presentations.
--------------------------
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Dr JA Muir Gray (National electronic Library for Health)
Dr Beverley Malone (Royal College of Nursing)
Dr Gillian Rice (GP & media medic)
Claire Rayner (Patients Association)
Dr Paul Glasziou (Centre for Evidence Based Medicine, Oxford))
Dr Iain Chalmers (James Lind Library)
Dr Kieran Phelan (Cincinnati Children's Hospital)
--------------------------
WHAT'S ON OFFER?
A mix of plenary, parallel and poster sessions, with exhibitors and online
master classes on accessing the evidence base. Cyber Cafe for accessing NeLH
resources.
--------------------------
WHO IS THE CONFERENCE FOR?
If you work in clinical effectiveness, practice development, clinical audit,
digital librarianship, guidelines, care pathways, accessing the evidence,
critical appraisal, evidence-based practice etc.
--------------------------
HOW MUCH?
It's only £50 per day, or £75 for the two days (if you book early), or
£75/£125 if you leave it late. Why so cheap - well we're not out to make
some huge profit - and you're probably just as fed up as we are with
conferences that charge in excess of £300 per day. If you're involved in
clinical effectiveness - WE WANT YOU TO COME - not stay away. And once again
- if your abstract is accepted for either oral or poster presentation, the
UK delegate fee is £0.
--------------------------
CONFERENCE WEBSITE
Please visit the conference website for a more detailed
programme, registration details, abstract submission, and to see what
happened at last years conference.

As last year, we are not charging exhibitors extra - and we have a vastly
improved open-plan exhibition area, with NHSNet enabled PC access provided.
Contact us for more details or see the website.
