I have all of the rpm packages installed on each of the nodes. I am now
trying to go through the Manual Configuration section, but am a little
confused by some of the steps. First, some of the steps are out of order,
telling you to mount filesystems before they are exported, then in later
steps it says to export them. It seems to be a bit of a mess to have all
the nodes cross-mounting filesystems from eachother. Also, a lot of the
required things seem to violate the whole spirit of trying to do a "lite"
install.
For the UI configuration, it says to NFS mount a few filesystems from
lxshare160d.cern.ch, not your local fileserver. We use NIS locally here
in our facility, how can I change our NISDOMAIN to edg-tb? What lines are
supposed to be added to /etc/passwd?
What exactly does it mean when it says the fileserver exporting the home
dir, /home is mounted from the CE, right? In some of the places it gives
instructions about where to export the filesystems, it does not list all
of the hosts that need to mount them.
At the end of the WN section, there is a misprint, it says:
cd /etc/init.d/pbs_mom start
For the CE, it gives these instructions:
[root@<client> home]# cd /home/
[root@<client> home]# rm -rf *
[root@<client> home]# ln -s /shift/lxshare160d/data05/home4/* /home/.
where /shift/lxshare160d/data05/home4/
is the area of the remote file server dedicated to the home dirs of your
poolaccounts.
What does this mean? I thought /home on the CE is already populated with
the pool accounts and I have no idea what is suposed to be in:
/shift/lxshare160d/data05/home4/
For the SE configuration, what is this command supposed to do for me:
ln -s /shift/lxshare160d/data02/data/LCG-CERT-SE04/* \
/flatfiles/LCG-CERT-SE04/
How big does /flatfiles/LCG-CERT-SE04/ have to be? Does it have to be a
disk local to the SE or can it be NFS mounted from a larger fileserver
that we already have setup here?
I think I am getting pretty close to being done here now. Besides the few
notes here, I have successfully completed all the steps in the LCG
LCFGng-Lite documentation. What are the next steps for trying to do
simple tests to see if everything is working correctly?
