CALL FOR ABSTRACTS FOR 1st ISEI CONGRESS - ROME, ITALY - September 17-20,
2003
Dear ISEI member,
The process for Abstract Submission and Conference
Registration is now in place for the first International Society on Early
Intervention (ISEI) Congress to be held in Rome, Italy, September 17-20,
2003. Please note that our conference will be held in conjunction with
the larger 4th European Congress “Mental Health and Mental Retardation: A
Lifespan Multidisciplinary Approach," and we are very pleased to have this
important collaboration.
We welcome Abstracts from ISEI members for individual oral
presentations (20 minutes) or posters on a wide range of topics including
descriptions of research, model service programs, innovative professional
training activities, policy concerns, and other matters relevant to the
field of early intervention.
Abstracts
Attached you will find an ISEI Abstract Submission
Instructions sheet and an ISEI Abstract Submission Form (Information, Page
1 and Abstract Form, Page 2) for the 2003 Rome Congress. Please download
the Abstract Submission Form (Page 1 and Page 2) and complete the form
following the detailed instructions. Then return both pages of the
Abstract Submission Form to Mike Guralnick as an e-mail attachment
([log in to unmask]). ISEI Abstracts are due by April 15, 2003.
Accepted Abstracts will appear as written in the larger Conference
Program. The Abstract Submission Instructions sheet and Form are also
available on the ISEI Congress 2003 Web page
(http://depts.washington.edu/isei/congress/congress.html).
Please note that only individual Abstracts intended for 20-minute oral
presentations or posters will be accepted for the ISEI Congress. After
all submissions have been received, Symposia will be developed consisting
of three individual 20-minute oral presentations. A primary effort will
be made to select Abstracts from individuals from different countries with
similar topic areas to create each ISEI Symposium. If you wish to
organize an ISEI Symposium with individuals from different countries
(three 20-minute oral presentations), please contact Mike Guralnick
directly.
Please note that the Abstract Submission Form asks you to identify whether
you are submitting an oral presentation or poster. Please feel free to
submit one oral presentation and one poster (but no more). Of course,
separate forms will be needed for each submission. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN
THESE FORMS TO THE 4TH EUROPEAN CONGRESS ADDRESS.
Conference Registration for Presenting Authors
Immediately after you have sent your Abstract
([log in to unmask]), you must register for the larger 4th European
Congress “Mental Health and Mental Retardation: A Lifespan
Multidisciplinary Approach." There is a link on the ISEI Congress 2003
Web page (http://depts.washington.edu/isei/congress/congress.html) that
will take you to the 4th European Congress home page or you can access it
directly at http://www.ptsroma.it/MHMR2003. Once there, click on
"Personal Data Registration" to receive an I.D. number. After you receive
your number, go to the "Registration Form" link and register for the main
conference. This cannot be done without an I.D. number. According to our
agreement with the European Congress, your Abstract for the ISEI Congress
will not be considered if you have not registered for the European
Congress, obtained an I.D. number, and paid your registration fee. Please
note that there is a reduced rate for ISEI members. Once you have
registered, please send your ID number to Mike Guralnick.
General Conference Registration
Registration for the ISEI Congress is being handled by the 4th
European Congress. Only one registration is needed for all meetings
(http://www.ptsroma.it/MHMR2003). Please note the reduced rate for ISEI
members for the main Congress (4th European Congress on Mental Health and
Mental Retardation).
Hotel Accommodations
After you register for the 4th European Congress, you may wish
to make hotel reservations by clicking on the "Hotel Registration Form."
There are a number of options at excellent conference rates.
Program Decisions
All program decisions will be made by the ISEI Coordinating
Committee. Those submitting Abstracts will be informed of their status no
later than June 15, 2003.
Sincerely,
