Dear Mary
By coincidence I've just been reading over my notes for a workshop I am
running on this topic at the Royal Veterinary College tomorrow!
You may find the short piece I put on the Geography Discipline Network
Resource Database a few years ago useful:
Healey, M (1997) Using peer and self assessment for assessing the
contribution of individuals to group projects, Geography Discipline Network
Resource Database A69. Available at: www.glos.ac.uk/gdn/abstract/a69.htm
I tried out two different methods and conclude that the individual weighting
factor method is the most effective one for group projects.
Another form of peer assessment I've used for several years is for oral
presentations. The form I use is attached. In this case all contributors
to the presentation are given the same mark.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you use any of the suggestions how you get
on.
Best wishes
Mick

Subject: Peer assessment of new lecturers - guidelines
I've been asked to advise colleagues on good practice in this area. I
had
feedback as part of the Cert TLT process but this was some time ago and
I'd
be really grateful for some up to date guidelines from other
organisations.
Many thanks for your assistance.
