FURTHER INFORMATION
This post has five key roles:
- to provide expert advice to University teaching staff in developing high
quality e-learning materials and systems (25%);
- to provide staff training in materials production packages and the use of
the University of Leeds virtual learning environment (Nathan Bodington
Building) (20%);
- to teach and assess on the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and
Teaching in Higher Education (20%);
- to convert and produce staff development materials in e-learning format
(20%);
- to help SDDU to utilise e-technology in its courses (15%).
Committed to providing a high quality staff development service to the
University, you will have proven experience of using C&IT, including the use
of web-based learning environments, to support learning, teaching and
assessment in Higher Education. With a qualification in teaching in Higher
Education (e.g. PG Cert/Dip, MEd) or in open and distance learning (e.g. OU
IET) and/or membership of ILTHE, you will have proven experience of teaching
and assessing students and/or staff. You will also have experience of using
flexible approaches in your teaching and a range of tools to design
web-based learning materials and websites and knowledge of web-based data
applications and languages. A self-starter, you will be able to work in a
lively, challenging and often pressured environment, to deliver on multiple
agenda, to work credibly with a range of staff and groups and to contribute
to all aspects of teamwork in SDDU. Excellent communication, presentation
and facilitation, organisational, administrative and IT skills are
essential. A good understanding of issues in staff and educational
development in Higher Education would be an advantage.
