Dear Colleague
We are taking final bookings at this time for the 2003 ILTHE Annual
Conference at Warwick University from 2-4 July. If you would like to book
for the conference please book online at www.ilt.ac.uk/conference or
contact Deb Chapman on [log in to unmask] 01904 434225 for a booking
form.
This year we are delighted to be holding the ILTHE conference at the
centrally located University of Warwick. With modern and vibrant facilities
based in the heart of the UK midlands and close to the historic towns of
Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick, we hope delegates will find the venue
comfortable and convenient.
In previous years the ILTHE conference has focused on 'Learning about
learning', 'Professionalism in practice' and 'Learning matters: improving
practice in higher education'. In 2003 the focus will be on reviewing
effective strategies for promoting effective learning and teaching in a
range of contexts:
What works :
to improve student retention?
in widening participation?
to support diverse students?
in involving students in their own assessment?
in making student learning more interactive?
in using IT to deliver and support the curriculum?
The conference will open at 12 noon on Wednesday 2 July with a welcome from
the Professor David VandeLinde, VC of the University of Warwick, and an
interactive plenary session led by Professor Sally Brown, Director of
Membership Services at the ILTHE.
After three days of keynotes, workshops, discussion sessions and
networking, the conference will conclude with lunch on Friday 4 July and a
discussion on current developments by Professor Liz Beaty, Director of
Learning and Teaching at HEFCE.
We look forward to seeing you in July!
