Hi guys,
At the ONS site you can also try
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/census2001/cn_56.asp
I am not sure if you wish to go further than OA's or indeed whether you
are seeking administrative boundaries (from the planning system)
http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/ or postcode boundaries.
If you have access to the PAF postcode database you can of course create
thiessen polygons for individual postcode units, at first glance the
accuracy is low but there are officially no actual postcode unit
boundaries!

A useful site for updates is:
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/default/all/home?paf_dm=full&paf_gear_id
=100002&paf_gear_state=con_content&xmlPath=/docContent/xml/04__Business/
05__Managing_address_data/04__Postcode_Updates/01__Postcode_Updates_info
rmation.xml
Perhaps this will be of help

John,
Yes indeed! I am assuming that the requested use of such data is for
research/personal use since this is an adademic mailing list. Any other
uses
need to be carefully assessed with respect to the OS licence.
also- an off-list reply from Di Greaves, powys

which is a useful reminder of the limitations of the data - thanks Di.
