Our local authority's library assistants earn > £7h. With sick pay, maternity
pay and 4 weeks paid holiday. Oh, and with greater job security.
When a lack of qualified tradesmen mean that electricians and plumbers (in the
South East at least) can earn >£120/day and many of the bread-and-butter GIS
jobs being farmed out en-masse to the subcontinent what's the incentive to
train in GIS?
