Call for contributions to the 4-yearly report: United Kingdom Research on
Geodesy 1999-2002,to be submitted to The International Association of
Geodesy, at the XXIII General Assembly of IUGG,Sapporo, Japan, June 2003.
As national delegate to the IAG, I have the responsibility of preparing the
report on UK research activity in the field of geodesy.
We now welcome summaries of research carried out and details of papers
published in the field of geodesy, over the inclusive period 1999 to 2002,
to be included in the report.
For your information, the report covering 1995 to 1998 was divided into the
following areas of specialty, but this should not be considered an
exclusive list for the present report:
SLR
GPS (to be renamed GNSS)
National and continental networks
Offshore positioning
Satellite altimetry
Satellite orbit and gravity field determination
Gravity surveys
Theoretical geodesy, earth tides, earth rotation and miscellaneous
gravimetric studies
Geoid determination
3D network adjustment
Deformation monitoring
Mean sea level studies
Geophysical and oceanographic application of GPS
Law of the sea
Previous reports have been printed, but the report now in preparation will
most likely be provided in PDF format on CD and/or at the IAG website
http://www.gfy.ku.dk/~iag/
Please provide your submissions, together with contact person and email
address (to be included in the report), by email to the IESSG by the end of
