Hello everybody,
Adrian Boyce asked me to forward this to the list:
"I see on NERC website that the is a "have your say" bit entitled:
Have your say in the future of the environmental sciences in the UK
I think it may be considered of some interest and import! Deadline for
replies on an easy computer based form is 16th May. Most importantly it is
essential that geology and applied/mineral deposit geology in particular in
our case, get heard - so make sure you fill in KEY RESEARCH PRIORITIES. The
page is:
http://www.erff.org.uk/yoursay.asp
You might also say that it is clear from the current NERC strategy that we
have not been vociferous enough, and it is not through them not wanting to
hear our voice, rather than us not saying anything. So, here's another
chance to let our voice be heard. Even the briefest of completing the form
will impact on future strategies, so it's worth having a go at, I think."
---------- End Forwarded Message ----------
NB - "Environmental Science" in NERCspeak includes Earth Science, so as
Adrian says, this IS relevant to the Mineral Deposit Community in the UK.
If we just sit back and ignore it, then we shouldn't complain when we can't
get funding for our research.
So spend an enjoyable few minutes ticking those boxes!
All the best,
Gawen
