The Department of Earth Sciences of Basel University invites
applications for two assistant positions beginning in spring 2003 in
the fields of
-Mineralogy-Petrology-Geochemistry
-Stable Isotope Geochemistry
The successful applicants will be actively involved in the
reorganization and operation the analytical facilities at the Earth
Sciences Department of Basel University. They will be expected to
contribute to the teaching at undergraduate and graduate level and to
initiate their own research programmes. Preference will be given to
candidates who can demonstrate their capability of interdisciplinary
research and are ready to pursue initiatives in both, classical earth
sciences and in applied research.
Appointment will be for a maximum of seven years, a PhD degree is
required.
The review process will begin February 1, 2003. By this date,

experience, statement of research interests, list of publications, and
