The Women's Studies Program at Gettysburg College invites applications
for a tenure-track appointment in Global/Third Wave Feminism at the rank
of Assistant Professor, beginning fall 2004. Candidates should have a
Ph.D. in Women's Studies or a relevant field with training in Women's
Studies. A social science concentration is preferred. We have a special
interest in candidates with a history of community and/or social
activism. Candidates must be committed to undergraduate teaching and
have a strong research program. Teaching duties include core courses,
such as our team-taught Introduction to Women's Studies, Feminist
Theories, and our Practicum in Feminist Theory and Collective Action, as
well as advanced courses in her/his specialty. The successful candidate
will likely have the Ph.D. in hand and some teaching experience, though
ABD candidates will be considered. Gettysburg College is a highly
selective liberal arts college located within 90 minutes of the
Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area. Established in 1832, the College
has a rich history and is situated on a 220-acre campus with an
