Hi
yes, while FSLView.app is fully self-contained and does not need to know
about your local setup, FSL.app needs to know where to find the full FSL
distribution. We did not want to force a certain install path for FSL on
MacOSX (as we don't on any other platform - some users might not be
allowed to install in /usr/local), so you will have to set your
environment variables correctly. This, however, is quite simple:
-if your terminal app runs tcsh as your shell just add the following to
your .cshrc in your home directory:
setenv FSLDIR /BLAH/fsl
setenv PATH $PATH\:${FSLDIR}/bin
-or if (like me) you've changed your default shell to be bash then just
add these llines to your .profile in your home:
export FSLDIR=/BLAH/fsl
export PATH=$PATH:${FSLDIR}/bin
The FSL.app is just a clickable shell script that, once these environment
variables are present, will bring up X11 and call the relevant script in
$FSLDIR/bin
hope this helps
