Dear List Members,
I work at an international NGO that works for the refugees and asylum
seekers in Turkey. Currently I develop a training project for the police in
refugee issues. There is an opportunity to include a study visit to UK, in
the training program.
I need some information on the level of police envolvement in the British
asylum system (whether they take claims, work in reception centres or not,
or their role when asylum seekers are detained etc.), so that I can see the
similarities and differences with the Turkish system and understand if it
makes sense to have such a study trip included in the program.
Any information on this matter will be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Derya Durmaz
