whilst the plain English Crystal Mark for the main manual might be a good idea, I also like the idea put forward by someone for an introductory guide, which refers to the manual for greater detail. Might make MIDAS more user friendly (especially as the guide could be a lot smaller and therefore less daunting)
best wishes

However, MIDAS is fairly dull to read and technical, and to try and
encourage more take up, the format of it needs to be re-considered - perhaps
a more user friendly version could be used (though to be fair, its pretty
good as it is).

That's an interesting one. You are right, MIDAS is not an end itself - the
end objective is standardised data in peoples databses. MIDAS has got to
explain the complexities of data standards in an accessible way. I'd welcome
any thoughts on how this can be improved. Perhaps we should aim for a
Crystal Mark from the Plain English Campaign

any thoughts on this folks?
