About the Job: The National Science Foundation (NSF) Act established the
National Science Board (NSB) as the board of governors of NSF and an advisor
to the President and the Congress on matters of national science and
engineering policy. The Board, appointed by the President consists of 24
members plus the Director of the National Science Foundation (NSF). The
mission of the NSB Office is to provide direct administrative, operational,
and policy support to the Board. In support of the Board's growing
communication activities, the NSB office has an ongoing need for technical
writing/editing services. These services include the preparation of
speeches, remarks, editorials, and reports. These exchanges must be oriented
to specific audiences, often delivered on short timetables, and sensitive to
a fluid policy environment in the shaping of (NSB) products. The
Qualifications Standards Handbook for General Schedule positions will apply.
Relocation expenses for this position will not be paid.
