Very interesting. Thank you Lisa.
I guess our recent spat was premature. Seems the committee ruled at *if*
SE were *intended* to be a scientific book, it is dishonest (whatever
that means) *but* the committee also seems to have found that Lomborg
did not *intent* to deceive, or, I guess, have SE taken to be
scientific!
I'm not sure what this means, other than what I concluded that SE is a
bit hard to understand in terms of Lomborg's intent. My own conclusion
is that Lomborg's intent was to make money and I guess he's been
successful on that count. So, Good on him!
As to other issues. In the USA Rep. Pombo (R-CA) has been selected to
chair the environmentally powerful Resources Committee in the House.
This came over the objections of *both* Democrats, Environmental groups,
*and* Republicans. Even some Republicans feel his is too strongly
opposed to any and all environmental regulation. The alternative, more
moderate (sic) choice was a guy who once called the League of
Conservation Voters annual score card "Nazi Propaganda." So you can
guess where Pombo sits. Seems that Delay felt that Pombo's fund raising
on behalf of the GOP deserved a major committee chair.
Geez, whatever happened to the "good old days?" When Reagan was
President? You never miss the water 'til the well runs dry.
