Future Land Use in Europe: Trends, Challenges and Policy (FLU-E)
____________________________________________________________
Are you involved in relevant research projects or decision-making?
The research area we will explore in the framework of a scoping paper in
the next two months (March-April 2003) is agricultural and land use change
in Europe. Interested researchers, planners, policy and decision-makers are
asked to get in touch with us or to send relevant articles, reports,
discussion papers etc. to the address given below. The idea of the scoping
paper is to systematically explore the research area in terms of on-going
research, what we know already and what we ought to know in order to
improve the formulation of relevant policies in the future. How could
accession to the EU and the Common Agricultural Policy change land use in
CEE is one issue to be explored. Options for an improved science-policy
interface will be discussed.
In the scoping paper we would like to refer to your work, competencies,
experiences and - above all - to your views on the related questions. If
you have any articles, research reports, discussion papers etc. on these
questions, and if you are interested in this kind of research, please let
us know.
For more information on the scoping paper please see the attached 2 pages info.
With kind regards,
Karlheinz Knickel
