Dear all,
If a member of staff requests to see a copy of a report written about them
do they have a right? I can't find the relevant section of the DPA but I
believe that they would have a right UNLESS it is planned to use the
information in disciplinary proceedings against them.
Am I right or have I dreamt this? I know it preferable to make these things
open and honest but does an employer have a right to restrict access to
this information?
The only possible exemptions I can see in the DPA are for 'Management
Forecasts' and 'Negotiations' but I am not 100% sure that either of these
is appropriate.
Many thanks,
Matthew Nunn
