The Department has been actively pursuing a strategy of
expansion, development and innovation in recent years which has
led to the opportunity to offer two new posts. The Department has a
strong, exciting research culture and was awarded 5A in the 2001
Research Assessment Exercise.
This three year rolling contract will be available from 1 September
2003 and will be concerned with both delivering teaching,
particularly at undergraduate level, and pursuing research in this
field which should enable linkages to be made either within or
across current research clusters in the Department. These clusters
are Welfare, Agency and Social Change; Family, Kinship and
Childhood; Racism and Ethnicity Studies; Gender Studies;
Disability Studies and Theory and Methodology. You will have
relevant teaching experience, proven ability to publish and have
been awarded (or are about to be examined for) a PhD.
