ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
The Centre of Criminology at the University of Toronto has a new
opening for an Assistant Professor position with research and
teaching interests in policing, security, and criminal justice
institutions. ---------- The University of Toronto, Centre of
Criminology and Woodsworth College invite applications for a
tenure-stream joint appointment at the rank of assistant professor.
The successful candidate will have a doctorate in the social
sciences, humanities, or law; and research and teaching interests
in policing, security, and criminal justice institutions. The
appointment will begin as early as 1 July, 2004. Applicants should
have a completed doctorate at the time of appointment and have
demonstrated promise of excellence in teaching and in scholarly
research and publication.
As the appointment is shared (60% Criminology, 40% Woodsworth
College), the appointee will be expected to teach courses in the
undergraduate programme in criminology at Woodsworth College
and in the graduate programme at the Centre of Criminology.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. All
qualified applicants are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian
citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
