29th EUROMICRO CONFERENCE
COMPONENT-BASED SOFTWARE ENGINEERING TRACK
Antalya - Turkey, September 3rd-5th, 2003
http://www.idt.mdh.se/ecbse/2003
Component-based software engineering (CBSE), is an emerging development
paradigm that promises to accelerate software development and to reduce
costs by assembling systems from prefabricated software components.
Designing, developing and maintaining components and component-based
applications for reuse is, however, a very complex process, which places
high requirements not only for the component functionality and
flexibility, but also for the development organization. CBSE covers many
software engineering disciplines and different techniques which still
have not been fully defined, explained and exploited either from
theoretical or practical points of view.
The aim of the conference track is to bring together practitioners and
researchers from academia and industry to improve the theories,
technologies, and processes in component-based software development. We
encourage submissions of both theoretical nature and experience reports
from academia and especially from industry. Suggested areas of interest
include, but are not restricted to:
- Component models and technologies
- Component development processes
- Component specification
- Components and Quality
- Component evaluation
- CBSE organizational issues
- Component compositions
- Component configuration management
- Component-based software architecture
- COTS (Commercial off the shelf)
- Component-based requirements engineering
- Component design, implementation, testing
- Development environment and tools
- Building systems from components
- CBSE and aspect-oriented programming
- Software product-line approach
- Middleware solutions for CBSE
- Case studies and experience reports
- Components for real-time and embedded systems
- Software component markets and businesses
