UACE ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2003
Newcastle upon Tyne
14 - 16 April
UACE (Universities Association for Continuing Education) Annual
Conference is being held at the International Centre for Life, Newcastle
upon Tyne from Monday, 14th to Wednesday, 16th April.
The theme of the Conference is 'Building Bridges'- referring to the
essential partnership and bridge-building characteristics of lifelong
learning (the title inspired by the Newcastle/Gateshead Millennium
Bridge). The themes will be the divides/transitions between HE/FE;
University/Community; Community/Culture; Vocational/Liberal;
18:30/Lifelong. Keynote speakers include Austin McNamara (Executive
Director of County Durham Learning & Skills Council), John Ebersole
(Boston US/President UCEA), Chris Duke, NIACE.
There will be plenty of networking opportunity and, of course, the
social and cultural buzz of Newcastle - including of course the
Millenium Bridge and the Baltic.
