Subject: Pew Report Describes New Categories of Internet Users
The Pew Internet & American Life Project just released a fascinating new
report, "The Ever-Shifting Internet Population," that identifies and
describes several new categories of Internet users, e.g.,
1. Net Users--Use the Net directly
2. Net Dropouts--Former users
3. Net Evaders--Have house mates who use the net
4. Users once removed--Have other close friends/family who use the Net
5. Hard-core non-users--No close friends or family who use the net
It may be that types 2, 3, & 4 may be sufficiently Net-savvy to use the
Net--or to have someone else use it for them--if they are faced with a
medical challenge.
