I had always assumed that the Standards specified that the value should be
right justified, but I just checked, and they don't (though it is sort of
implied). I don't recall ever finding a compiler which did not right
justify, though.
You can (in Fortran95) force left justification using I0, but then to get
to a specified total width (say 10) you would need to use TRn to tab to a
specified absolute column, which isn't exactly convenient.
It would be nice to have a way of forcing a specific (left or right)
justification. Perhaps too late to change F2000 now?
