Most of you will already have received this information once (or twice!),
but since I've been asked to forward the message, here it goes (with
apologies for duplicate postings):
THE THOMAS WIEDEMANN MEMORIAL FUND
TRAVEL GRANTS FOR CLASSICS POSTGRADUATES
Classics postgraduates are reminded that grants from the Thomas Wiedemann
Memorial Fund are available to assist with the costs of visits from within
the UK to UK universities, museums or libraries. Any student taking a
taught or research postgraduate course related to the ancient world at any
UK university is eligible to apply. Grants will be made mainly for the
costs of travel, though in some cases assistance may also be given with
accommodation and subsistence costs. Where possible, a contribution should
also be sought from a student’s own institution.
The trustees are particularly keen to support attendance by individuals or
groups at seminars or conferences. However, in view of the large number of
postgraduates attending and the availability of bursaries, grants for
attendance at the Classical Association AGM will be made only in
exceptional cases. Grants from the fund are not available for travel
outside the UK. Individuals may not normally receive more than one grant in
a single academic year.
Further information on the fund and its grants and an online grant
application form are available at http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/classics/.
Applications for grants should be made by completing and submitting the
form online, normally at least one month before the intended date of
travel.
