busy Buckingham office. Primarily, the post will involve the design and
management of substantial archaeological projects, liaising with clients

Senior Instructor in Classics and Classical Studies
The Department of Classical, Near Eastern and Religious Studies at the
University of British Columbia invites applications for a tenure-track
position in Classics and Classical Studies at the level of Senior
Instructor beginning July 1, 2004 subject to budgetary approval. The
successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide range of Classics and
Classical Studies courses. Experience in teaching the roots of medical
terminology will be an asset. This position is primarily a teaching
position and will require a dedication to teaching with a commensurate
teaching load. The successful candidate will also be expected to show
potential for scholarship in pedagogy. Applicants should have completed or
nearly completed the Ph.D. Considerable teaching experience at the

applications for a tenure-stream position in Roman History (assistant
professor). The successful applicant will have demonstrated excellence
in research and teaching and will contribute to a research-intensive
doctoral program and a thriving undergraduate program in Greek, Latin,
and Classical Civilization; an ability to teach Latin prose authors at
all levels is required. The department is particularly interested in
candidates who combine a thorough training in Classics with interests in
other humanities disciplines.
