Many thanks to those of you who replied to my question about estimating
pairwise relatedness. Alas, despite several people being interested in
this, nobody has done it (or at least is admitting to having done it!).
As it's an open question, I'll have to put it on my "to-do" list. If
someone wants to try and work it out, I'm happy to provide some
assistence. The ML approach is outlined here:
Milligan BG. Maximum-likelihood estimation of relatedness. GENETICS

but the conversion to WinBugs code isn't trivial. The good news is that
if you put "Bayesian" in the title of a paper, you can get it published
in a good quality genetics/ecology journal with embarrassing ease.
Related to this, Ian Wilson pointed out that he has some code to
estimate parentage, which won't solve my problem, but might be of use
