I am looking into the possibility of running BUGS on our 32-proccessor IBM Regatta
P690. Has anyone tried to port the code to this platform? Does anyone know of
converter program that converts the WinBUGS .odc file into the files needed by
ClassicBUGS?
A new user here has been running WinBUGS on her windows machine. She has
come to us with the goal of running the program on our 32-processor IBM Regatta
(P690) or at least on our SGI computers Her hope is to obtain higher throughput of
results either by using a faster machine (The P690) than her PC or using our many
SGIs.
Browsing the web site I see that versions of classic BUGS are available for the SGI
(V0.60) and the RS6000 (V0.50). Will these perform the same data calculations and
produce the same results as WinBUGS?
An optimal solution would be to obtain and port the computational and i/o routines
for WinBUGS. Then use the windows data files as input for the batch runs on the
faster computer. Does anyone know if this is allowed or has been done? If allowed,
I have people here that can do the coding.
Thank you for any assistance,
-Andrew
