'The Resilient Voice: Northern Irish Poetry 1960-Present Day' is a
conference to be hosted by the Institute of English Studies, School of
Advanced Study, University of London, 10-11 March 2003.
The speakers include: Fran Brearton, Rachel Buxton, Heather Clark, Neil
Corcoran, Gavin Drummond, John Goodby, Hugh Haughton, Ruth Ling, Edna
Longley, Colleen McKenna, Steve Matthews, Bernard O'Donoghue, Michael
O'Neill, Michael Parker and Ronald Schuchard.
In association with the Conference, the Institute will host the John Coffin
Memorial Literary Readings over the two concurrent evenings, with Michael
Longley and Derek Mahon reading together on 10 March and Ciaran Carson and
Medbh McGuckian reading together on 11 March. These events are free, public
readings, and will be followed by a drinks reception.
