I've done quite a lot of work on delivering VLE content to an Internet
connected PDA (using GPRS - mobile phone). The final report is with the
funders. Once cleared, I can email you the url.
Also I've researched the potential of developing material for both PC /
PDA, i.e., student accesses the VLE via a PC - uploads some of the files to
the PDA. This includes ideas forums for discussion boards, video/audio
etc., This area of reserach may expand to include Smartphones (it's not a
technical issue, it's more one of usability).
There is a bit of software that offers some of this functionality -
Blackboard to Go. I'd be interested in finding out what people think to
Blackboard to Go.
Finally, we are thinking of piloting the use of SMS to transfer Blackboard
announcements etc., At the moment it's on the drawing board.
Question: What are you thinking of doing?
If you need more info, please email/call
