We're not all sleeping over here!
I teach 2 and 3 day biomimicry workshops to a wide variety of groups:
business, government, and schools. We are also working with the US Dept. of
Education to develop a curricula for K-12 students in biomimicry.
The California College of Arts and Crafts in San Francisco is teaching their
first class this semester to a group of industrial design students. I'm
jump-starting the class this weekend with a 1-day workshop.
John Mlade is also teaching a graduate seminar in biomimicry this spring at
Colorado State University in the Construction department.
And Peter Lawrence of the Corporate Design Foundation is developing an
interdisciplinary course in biomimicry that will target biologists, business
majors, design majors and engineers. Last I heard he already had four major
universities signed up to give it a try.
We've also heard of a dozen or so professors who have heard of the topic and
have devoted at least one lecture to it during a semester.
Cheers,
Dayna Baumeister
