'James Hogg and the British Literary Canon': The Eleventh James Hogg
Society Conference, will take place at Ettrick Riverside Conference Centre,
Selkirk, from Monday 12th until Wednesday 14th July 2004. In addition to
the programme of conference papers, there will be a round-table discussion
entitled, 'Taking Hogg into the 21st Century and beyond' at Bowhill
Theatre, Selkirk, on Tuesday 13th July, followed by the Conference Dinner.
There will also be excursions through the Ettrick and Yarrow Valleys with
visits to key sites related to Hogg's life and writing. The conference fee
will be £95; students/concessions £80. Fees for partial conference
attendance by arrangement. Proposals are invited for individual 15-20
minute papers, or for sessions consisting of 3-4 papers addressing a
particular topic. The closing date for proposals of papers is 28th February
