Can you help? We are considering a subscription for on-line access to a
database which up until now we have accessed via quarterly CD-Roms. While
it would be simpler to use the on-line version, with other members of staff
able to access information from their own pcs, and now costs no more than
the CD-Rom version, we are concerned about the loss of data, which we will
have paid for, if we should ever discontinue our subscription in the future.
We wondered how other librarians are dealing with this issue, and what steps
they might be taking to protect any data already paid for. If you have
any helpful suggestions or comments on this matter, could you kindly reply
to me off-list mailto:[log in to unmask]
