With the permission of the list owners and apologies for
cross-posting I should like to post details of the
following job opportunity at the Worcestershire Record Office, which
also
appears in the Society of Archivists' ARC Recruitment publication
and the RMS bulletin:
Electronic Records Manager
(Scale SO1 - £21,282 - £22,689)
Gain access to a brighter future
Always at the forefront of new initiatives, Worcestershire County Council is
rising to the challenge of recent government legislation. In order to
accommodate the Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Human Rights
Acts we are changing the way we work. Soon, access to records and
information will be freer than ever - and that's where you come in. In this
important role you will play a crucial and ground-breaking part in the
development and implementation of our electronic document and record
systems. You will ensure all newly-created records are electronically stored
and retrieved, help advise on appropriate systems and hardware and ensure
the long-term security and accessibility of electronic data. You'll work
closely with the Information and Business Systems service to develop new
policies and procedures and you'll be looked to to lead in this area by
sharing your knowledge and expertise throughout the authority. Combine
technical awareness with excellent communication skills and you'll really
get our new systems up and running.
Educated to degree level, you'll have a post-graduate qualification in
either records management, archive administration, information management,
information technology or similar field. As well as two years' experience of
modern records, IT or archives work you'll have good analytical skills and
an understanding of e-data storage. Show us a good understanding of
information and electronic records management principles and their
application in practice and you can make a significant contribution here.
