Or how about STATCAT for the project to transcribe those old favourites Bond
in Statute Merchant and Bond in Statute Staple.
I remember being given examples of these to study on the Bangor Archive
Administration course and wondering what the point was as I would never come
across such obscure documents. The main way of recognising them was to look
for the words Acton Burnell, which is where the statutes were ratified by
the king when the Parliament met there. So what did I come across when
listing my first box as a qualified archivist? I haven't come across one
since - I obviously need to get out more.
