BARTS AND THE LONDON NHS TRUST
Records Management
Assistant Records Manager
£18,698 - £22,184 pa inc (starting salary will be dependent on relevant
experience)
Fixed term contract for 1 year
An opportunity has arisen to work on the implementation of the Trust's
records management strategy and prepare the Trust for full compliance with
freedom of information and data protection legislation.
Working closely with the Modern Records Manager, you will maintain and
develop the records management audit database and provide guidance and
support for records management across the Trust. You will also be involved
in maintenance of the Trust publication scheme and development of access
arrangements under Freedom of Information.
A self-starter who is happy to work alone as well as being part of a small
professional team, you will also help with the day-to-day management of the
Trust Records Centre. This will include maintaining and updating the
database of records centre holdings and carrying out documented disposals of
records in accordance with agreed retention schedules. The centre is due to
move premises in the course of the year and you will be involved in the
removal process and in a projected extension of the records centre service
for other corporate departments moving to the same site.
The records management unit has responsibility for the archival records of
the Trust since 1994 and is part of the Trust Headquarters, which also
includes the Archives and Museum departments at the Royal London and St
Bartholomew's Hospitals.
This is an ideal opportunity to gain excellent experience in an expanding
sector and would suit newly-qualified records professionals looking to
develop their professional skills. Applications from graduates seeking work
experience before post-graduate training in archives and records management
would also be considered.
