£15,476 - £15,631 pa and pro rata
The National Archives' online catalogue, PROCAT, provides users with a
powerful way of searching for records. The project Labouring Men, Labouring
Women is a Heritage Lottery funded initiative to incorporate descriptions
of files on labour, social, economic, and employment history onto PROCAT.
The project will enrich and provide access to records of national, regional
and local significance on labour and employment issues, including
industrial and arbitration disputes and relations, working conditions, pay,
employment policy and women's employment.
We are seeking a motivated individual to work in our e-Access Department,
who will input and enhance these descriptions which are currently held in
paper based systems. The successful candidate will have data input/word
processing/keyboarding skills, team working and interpersonal skills,
initiative and a willingness to learn, and analytical skills. Knowledge of,
or an interest in, archives and experience of working in the heritage
sector is desirable, as is an interest in history and the work of the
National Archives.
