Dear All,
We are currently preparing the public face of the Archive Awareness Month
website.
We want to pull together interesting and/or funny facts about archives in a
"Do You Know..." section to spark the public's imagination.
For example, strange archive collections, odd things in the archives *, the
nicest/strangest visitor book comments, the most fantastic find by a
researcher, the most moving find by a researcher, etc.
(* I have been watching the 'human remains in the archives' emails with
interest!)
As well as the funny and peculiar, we are also looking for facts and figures
such as how many archives are in each region, visitor numbers, etc.
Can you please wrack your brains for some facts, figures and tales from the
archives!
If you could please email me your facts by 11th July to allow us enough time
to incorporate them into the web pages. (Alternative call me on 020 8392
5376)
Many thanks in advance .. I look forward to hearing your tales!
Fiona
