Dear Sabine,
Prunus avium, native in Europe (see comment K. Wasylikowa), was also found
in Eemian sediments: WEBER, C.A. (1893a) Vorläufige Mitteilungen über neue
Beobachtungen an den Interglacialen Torflagern des westlichen Holstein.
Neues Jahrb. f. Min. Geol.u. Paläont. (I): 94-96.
all the best
Felix

Betreff: request Prunus avium
I found a Prunus avium bead in a neolithic lake site settlement
(3380-3376 BC) in the Swiss "Alpenvorland". I wonder where it came
from - trade or ?
Did anyone find Prunus avium ealier than the Roman period?
Thanks
Sabine Hosch
