Well done Cary, and well put. Just as long as we don't start publishing
SSR's!
My experience is similar in balance of the sexes, but I am noting an
increase in 'mature' students (ie. Not straight out of school). If we could
call ourselves something other than 'photography' we would - but only
because we do not conform to the straight jacket definition to which you
allude. Photographic course have to look to the present and the future and I
believe we are producing graduates who more closely match the profile of the
image creative. Perhaps the question should be ' what will define 'the
photographer' for the 21st century, because it sure as hell will be
different from that for the 21st.
