Data Analyst/Programmer and Statistician (2 separate posts) for large scale
medical studies
Two people are required to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working
on large-scale research into the molecular and genetic causes of heart
attacks.
Data Analyst/Programmer Post
Candidates should possess a relevant degree or work experience, a rigorous
approach to data, and good organisational skills. The main focus is on
checking and harmonising large datasets on heart disease, which are
contributed by collaborating scientists throughout the world.
Statistician Post
Candidates should possess a relevant first or postgraduate degree with a
high statistical content, and have an understanding of epidemiological
research methods. The main focus is on the anlaysis and synthesis of large
epidemiological datasets.
These appointments are for three years and the salaries will be within the
Research Assistant/Associate scale (£18,265-£27,339) depending on
candidates' qualifications and experience.
