LECTURESHIP AND SENIOR LECTURESHIP IN BIOSTATISTICS
Applications are invited for two new, indefinite positions in Lancaster's
RAE 6* Statistics research group within the Department of Mathematics
and Statistics. The group currently includes 12 academic staff
(5 professors, 1 reader, 2 senior lecturers, 4 lecturers), 4 research
associates, 21 research students and 18 MSc students.
Applicants should have a track-record of research achievement in
statistics, a commitment to collaborative research in the biomedical
or health sciences, and an enthusiasm for specialist statistics
postgraduate teaching and/or for statistics service teaching in the
biomedical or health sciences.
The department wishes to grow its activity in the area of statistical
bioinformatics and would particularly welcome applications for candidates
whose research interests lie in this area, or in relevant aspects
of modern, computationally intensive statistical methods.
Both positions are available from 1 April 2004.
Starting salary will be at an appropriate point on either the
Lecturer (currently 18,893 to 34,838 pounds per year) or Senior Lecturer
(currently 36,464 to 41,333 pounds per year) scale, according to the
experience of the successful candidates.
