Postdoctoral Fellowship (2 years) - Environmental Statistical Analyst
ICARUS (Irish Climate Analysis and Research Units) is pleased to offer a two-year
post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Geography at the National University
of Ireland, Maynooth, Co. Kildare, Republic of Ireland.
The primary role of the Fellowship, which is funded through the Environmental
Protection Agency ERTDI (Environmental Research Technological Development and
Innovation) programme, will be to undertake analytical and methodological research
concerned with the extreme value analysis of climate series, in support of and
directly relevant to the existing ERTDI project: Climate Change: Refining the
Impacts.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, economics or a related
field with a strong background in quantitative methods and must be highly competent
in the application of statistical methods, including extreme value analysis
and forecasting techniques. Ideally the candidate would have a minimum of two
years relevant experience in this field. Familiarity with the application of
statistical modelling techniques to environmental data would be advantageous.
The salary range will be within the €32,000- €35,000 depending on
qualifications and experience
