Lectureship in Bioinformatics
The Division of Genomic Medicine at the University of Sheffield seeks to appoint
a lecturer in Bioinformatics to join the Mathematical Modelling and Genetic
Epidemiology group. The appointee will carry out research in
mathematical/statistical/computational genetics.
Possible areas of collaborative research are in comparative genomics and
sequence assembly, graphical modelling of protein interactions, MCMC for genetic
problems, human population genetics, disease models and genetic epidemiology.

The appointee will also be expected to participate in the undergraduate medical
course and postgraduate teaching.
The successful candidate will have, or be about to complete, a PhD in a
mathematical subject and will have a strong interest in pursuing research in
problems in genetics.
Salary: £22,191 - £33,679 pa
