Hello
I am copy-editing for a monthly medical journal.
I would like to ask for an opinion about the best way to describe the design
of a
(reported) controlled clinical trial in which one group of patients had: A
two courses of the trial treatment, B a course of trial treatment followed
by a course of placebo, or C a course of placebo followed by a course of
trial treatment.
The authors describe this as a parallel-groups design. From the Summary, I
wanted to call it a crossover design, but in fact it seems to be a little
bit of both and I am at a loss.
Would anybody like to comment, please?
