Medical Statistician (job ref: CFL/03/09b)
An exciting opportunity to join a group of senior statisticians in the
Centre for Paediatric Epidemiology and Biostatistics. The Centre pursues
high quality epidemiological research applied to child health. Our
internationally recognised research portfolio provides unique opportunities
to develop methodological research based on national and international
cohort studies, routine datasets and patient registers. We are looking for
a statistician to develop an applied statistical research programme
relevant to population child health, candidates who do not already hold a
higher degree will have the opportunity to register for a PhD. The
post-holder will also provide statistical teaching and support to MSc and
PhD students in the Centre.
The Institute was rated 5*A in the 2001 RAE, and 23/24 by the QAA for its
teaching. It was awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and
Further Education in 2000.
Applications are welcomed from statisticians preferably with experience of
multi-disciplinary research and teaching medical or biostatistics at
postgraduate level to non-statisticians. The post is on the RA1A scale
(£22,191-£25,451 plus London Weighting of £2,134 per annum) and will be for
