Statistical Analyst - Bayesian Techniques Defence Sector
We are currently seeking a Statistical Analyst highly proficient in
Bayesian Probability Techniques on a 12-month contract basis starting
within the next 4-6 weeks. Our client is a leading organisation in the
Defence Sector in the South-West of the UK. We are currently assigned to
increase a small team, which is developing “data fusion methodologies” in
the area of event data management for the defence sector.
Existing statisticiansare currently using Kalman Filters to predict the
probability of certain events. For example, if they have a box that gives
out a continuous 10hz signal, they need to draw conclusions about what this
signal means to them i.e. does this signal signify an event or just event
background? To do so,our client requires someone capable of looking beyond
Kalman Filters and implement Bayesian Probability techniques.
The successful candidate will need to possess the following skills:
Probability techniques (Bayesian)
Extensive Mathematical academic and career background
An understanding of Signal Processing
An appreciation of 'Uncertainty'
An extensive statistical analysis background
If candidates have any knowledge of programming (C++), Event Data
Management & Prediction experience and are Security Cleared, this would be
highly desirable. The remuneration for this temporary contract is
approximately £800 per week.
Applicants should have at least 4 years of either academic/commercial
experience in statistical analysis.
Candidates must already be authorized to work in the EU and must be UK
