Mathematical Genetics Group at the Department of Statistics
Postdoctoral research in Mathematical Population Genetics.
A BBSRC funded position to 30th September 2004 is available to work with
Professor R. C. Griffiths, developing methods for Demographic and Ancestral
inference from DNA sequences. Candidates from any area of statistics or
probability are welcome, though knowledge of applied stochastic processes
and computational techniques would be ideal.
The Mathematical Genetics group (www.stats.ox.ac.uk/mathgen) is one of the
leading centres for research into population genetics theory and
application, an area of increasing importance to the fields of medical
genetics and evolutionary biology.
The starting date for the position is negotiable, but the position is
available immediately. Salary will be in the range £18,265 to £27,339
depending on age and experience.
